Custard Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce

  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cut the bread into cubes and place in a greased baking dish.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and let it soak for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  6. To make the vanilla sauce, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just boiling.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Serve warm over the pudding.
