- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 12 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, lasagna noodles, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Stir in ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella until well combined.
- Serve hot, garnished with remaining mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh basil.
