Turkey Sweet Potato Chili

A hearty and nutritious chili made with turkey and sweet potatoes, perfect for any season.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, diced
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground turkey, cooking until browned.
  4. Stir in diced sweet potatoes and add black beans and diced tomatoes.
  5. Pour in vegetable broth and season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 20-25 minutes until sweet potatoes are tender.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • For added spice, include some chopped jalapeños.
