Vanilla Eggnog Bread

A delightful twist on traditional bread that captures the essence of the holidays.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, then add in the eggs, eggnog, and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the nuts if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of rum extract.
